Context

Yaris production site in Onnaing (59-France) is considering environment preservation as a major strategic development axis. In production terms, this involves saving natural resources and reducing the activities’ impact on the environment.

Objectives

- Raise all employees’ awareness to environment and turn them into active contributors

- Share the site’s initiatives and good practices with the local community

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Discovering industrial assets

Since 2006 TMMF joined the EDIVAL program (“discover Valenciennes area industries”) proposed by the Union for the Metallurgy Industry and Crafts, offering school children the opportunity to discover the area’s industries.

Another program involving an approach to sustainable development was implemented in collaboration with the French Education Ministry, combining theoretical classes in school and practical workshops at TMMF site. Over 600 school children (5th and 9th graders) follow this program every year.

RAISING AWARENESS AMONG EMPLOYEES

TMMF organizes several sustainable development–oriented actions all over the year. The sustainable development week in April, the “green month” in June are organized every year and used to raise employees’ awareness on selected themes. On the other hand, all manufacturing workshops are involved in finding new environment-friendly ideas.

TMMF is striving for its employees to be constantly environment-conscious.
